The Post-Conviction Innocence Clinic, which she directs, won exoneration for Tyrone Hicks, a Bronx man who served 10 years in prison after a conviction for rape. The students discovered untested scrapings from beneath the victim’s fingernails contained DNA that did not belong to Hicks—proving he could not have committed the crime. The news was featured in the New York Post (May 2014).
