WELCOME
As New York Law School celebrated 125 years, the Innovation Center for Law and Technology began its first. And we hit the ground running.
We brought together a distinguished Advisory Board consisting of NYLS alumni and leaders in their fields. Special thanks to our Board Chairs, Marylee Jenkins ’91, a partner at Arent Fox LLP, and Errol B. Taylor ’83, a partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP.
The Center launched an unprecedented initiative to combat cyberharassment. The Tyler Clementi Institute for CyberSafety was announced in October 2015, and we spent much of the year building relationships with law firms and industry leaders so that we can be ready to help victims of cyberharassment obtain justice.
We hosted several conferences, including one on art and entertainment law, another on sports law, and yet another for internet law scholars. New York Law School is nationally recognized as a center of gravity for dynamic intellectual property, privacy, and technology scholarship.
MESSAGE FROM
We also welcomed many distinguished guests, from Judge Alvin Hellerstein of the Southern District of New York, to three Members of Congress: Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Mark Pocan (D-WI), and Kathleen Rice (D-NY).
THE DIRECTOR
Our students achieved great successes as well. Our graduates will be working at top law firms and with industry leaders in the fall. Our continuing students secured summer associate positions, internships with federal and state judges, and positions with nonprofit advocacy organizations.
In the next few pages, you will find selected highlights from our first year. It has been an exciting journey. Stay tuned for more.
