n Named william P. LaPiana the new associate dean for academic affairs and Student engagement. n Named deborah n. archer the inaugural dean for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer. n Named richard k. Sherwin the inaugural dean for Faculty Scholarship.
n Named kris franklin as full Professor of law with tenure. Professor Franklin teaches contracts; negotiation; counseling and interviewing; Principles of legal analysis; and Family law. She is an expert in legal pedagogy and experiential learning in law school, and is a national leader in the field of academic preparedness. her scholarship focuses on these areas and on the analysis of judicial interpretation, especially in the context of lgBt law. She supervises the nYlS dispute resolution team and is also co-director of the initiative for excellence in law teaching (ielt).
n Promoted kim hawkins to full Professor of law with a long-term contract. Professor hawkins teaches legal Practice i and ii. She also taught Juvenile delinquency and is co-director of the institute for excellence in law teaching (ielt).
n Promoted Lynn boepple Su to full Professor of law with a long-term contract. Professor Su teaches legal Practice i and ii. She also co-teaches the Prosecution clinic Seminar with the manhattan d.a.’s office and is the faculty advisor to the nYlS trial competition team.
n Promoted erika L. wood to full Professor of law with a long-term contract. Professor Wood teaches legal Practice i and ii. She also has taught employment discrimination law and is the director of the Voting rights and civic Participation Project at nYlS.

n Nine professors were named emeritus members of the faculty: Michael botein, James brook, aleta G. estreicher, Lawrence M. Grosberg, randolph n. Jonakait, Jethro k. Lieberman, carlin Meyer, Stephen a. newman, and Michael L. Perlin.
n Professors Jeffrey J. haas and Gerald korngold received the nYlS class of 2015 teaching award.
n two full-time faculty members were recognized with the otto l. Walter distinguished Writing awards: houman b. Shadab for his article, “Performance-Sensitive debt: From asset-Based loans to Startup Financing”; and ruti G.Teitel for her book, GlobalizingTransitional Justice: Contemporary Essays.
n three adjunct faculty members were recognized with otto l. Walter distinguished Writing awards: david L. ferstendig for his article, “Should counsel for a non-Party deponent be a ‘Potted Plant’?”; claire r. Thomas for her article, “Bridging the gap for immigrant children: understanding immigration relief for child migrants”; and Gerald Lebovits for his book, New York Residential Landlord-Tenant Law and Procedure.
